über Halloween

My überwoman dreams include Halloween. A big specatcular Halloween, with jack o'lanterns and decorations and costumes and cool devices to spook trick-or-treaters.

Yes, I know, this is odd. Halloween was not part of my childhood (except the year we lived in the States), and it's not a custom here either. Although, it has been getting more popular and I have liked the cute costumed kids appearing on our doorstep demanding lollies. And it was originally a Scottish/Irish celebration so my genes have some claim to the tradition.

But anyway, leaving aside the deconstruction of my wish for an über Halloween, how did I go?

Cool devices to spook trick-or-treaters - not so much.

Also, Téo did not actually get to go trick-or-treating as C isn't home tonight and even in my überness I couldn't manage feeding the kids and getting them to bed on time and trick-or-treating all by myself. But he was totally freaked out by a trick-or-treating group of older ghouls, so the spirit of the evening (ha ha!) was not completely lost on him.

I got some great ideas on the spooky devices too. Cos those kids, they got it too easy, just appearing at the door and holding out their lolly bags. They're gonna hafta work for their booty next year, I tell ya. Watch this space.
