After the tulips...

... and perhaps a little too much enthusiasm with iPhone apps.

Pondering the unanswerable

Why is it that every night, between every mouthful, your child unfailingly places his food-besmeared fork not on his plate, not even on the table mat, but on the table... yet the one night you let him eat peanuts after dinner, between shelling every nut he unfailingly places the clean nutcracker on his food-besmeared plate?

An unexpected harvest

After weeks of rain, I guess it's not so strange to find mushrooms in your garden.

But edible mushrooms?

Edible, gourmet mushrooms?

Lots of them?

Yum.

Oh man*

Hours and hours of work...

Making many, many flags...

... followed by one unwise decision and a misstep.

Pondering the unanswerable (the first of a series)

Why is that every night you repeatedly have to remind your child to eat with his cutlery and not his hands... but when you ask him to pick up all the food he dropped between the plate and his mouth, he eats it off the floor with his fork?

Lately

So there was a holiday recently, right?

Oh yeah, Easter. I accepted the branches from a neighbour a couple of weeks before, full of plans blow eggs and paint them with the kids and for the first time ever have beautiful, crafty Easter decorations. All I can say is, thank you school and thank you garderie for not leaving us with a vase of accusingly empty greenery.

I did manage chocolate, though, and an Easter brunch.

What else...

Well, thanks to the rainy weather for the past, oh, FOREVER, we've been inside a lot. Except when we were outside, in a thermal pool.

And when I've dashed out during brief respites to admire the garden.

Thanks to my rejection of store-bought cookies, canned cat food, canned chickpeas, canned red beans, pretty much anything convenient, I've been stuck in the kitchen quite a bit. C's accidental purchase of 5 kg of zucchinis did not help. Like disposing of excess vegetables is not enough of a problem in summer.

That's not even all of them.

Also, the cat has developed a very large belly. And is waddling.

And that's about it.
